QSMI and TU Braunschweig have established a joint framework for their partnership

13.03.2020 | Memorandum’s of Understanding were signed between the EAST-CITIES team and Qingdao Surveying and Mapping Institute. Qingdao Surveying and Mapping Institute is an award winning Institute with deep knowledge in data generation, geospatial analysis, and mapping. We look forward to a continued partnership and exchange of knowledge and are excited to work together on creating a sustainable future for Qingdao.

The signing ceremony in Qingdao, originally planned for February in the presence of representatives of the city of Qingdao, Vice President of Tongji University Prof. Dr. Wu, a representative of the German Embassy in Beijing and others, unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the Corona Pandemic. A digital communication infrastructure established within the framework of the project made it possible to sign the contract together even over distance. We look hopefully to the future to reaffirm the signing in a face-to-face meeting during a signing ceremony in Qingdao later this year.
